XID Worker missing: what to check before calling it offline

An empty list means this fetch of the public roster has no Worker for that address. It does not include the local process, temperature, or menu-bar shares. Those exist only on your Mac.

On this page

On XID / MMM monitoring, the empty state says there is no Worker for this address in the fetched list, and that this does not prove the miner is offline. Start there. The website does not have your Mac’s process, temperature, power, or menu-bar pickaxe. Those stay in MMM on the machine. The paired agent cannot start or stop MMM either. It controls a Train at Home Mac only.

Read in this order

First, the last fetch time. When a refresh fails, the previous data keeps its original time. If the latest source record is older than 10 minutes, the page says a successful refresh does not make it current. When the source marks pool data stale, do not treat that roster as the machine’s on/off state at this moment.

Second, the address and the pool. The payout address has to be the full mainnet xpa1r string. txa1r is retired testnet. See mainnet and testnet. The current pool on the MMM mainnet page is pool.xcoinminer.com (or the 172.96.186.49 printed there), port 3335, Network Mainnet, explorer https://superknet.com. If you mine somewhere else, or Setup is still on testnet, this public list can omit your Worker. The page also says the selected pool decides which Worker records are visible, and the list does not cover every miner.

Third, go back to the Mac. The MMM page says that after you start, the Worker appears on the superknet.com miner list within about a minute, and the menu bar shows local hashrate and shares. If the menu bar is still moving and the website has no row, those are two readings: one on the Mac, one from this fetch of the public list. If the menu bar has stopped too, that is MMM’s own state. You start or stop it on the Mac. The website cannot.

Two ways to read the list

Illustrative case, not a measurement: the last fetch was 12 minutes ago, the source marks pool data stale, the address is valid, and there is no Worker row. You remember that shares were once 14. “No row” plus “12 minutes” is not a powered-off Mac. The stale mark means the roster stopped at an earlier source time, and the missing row means this roster has no such address. Next, see whether MMM is still on Mainnet and that pool, and whether the menu bar is still counting. The next check is still MMM on the Mac, not treating a blank web row as powered off.

The other branch: the row is still there, accepted shares are 14, both hashrates are blank, and last activity was 3 minutes ago. That is activity without an estimate. Read it in hashrate and shares. It is still not proof the Mac is off.

What this page cannot do

What this page cannot do: restart MMM remotely, write a blank hashrate as 0 MH/s, estimate how many Macs are on the network from the visible Worker count, or guarantee the list updates within a minute. That minute is the MMM page’s statement about their explorer list.

Common questions

Does a missing Worker mean the Mac is asleep?

That does not prove it. It only means this public list has no such row. Look at whether MMM is still running on the Mac.

Can the website see menu-bar shares?

No. The menu bar stays on the machine. The website has only the public list it fetched.

I am still missing after a minute. Is that expected?

The MMM page says about a minute on their explorer list. If your pool, network, or address differs, this list can still omit you. This site did not measure that minute.
