What to paste for Quantus mining: the public wormhole address only

Official key output has three values: the public Address, the inner hash, and the 24 words. The monitor uses only the first, and it must be the mainnet wormhole public string. The project treats the miner auth token as a password. The wallet app can spend a wormhole balance from the same seed. This website cannot sign or move rewards to an exchange.

Save only the public address

When you add a row on the Quantus monitor, paste only the public wormhole Address. Official key generation prints three values together: Address (the public destination of mining rewards, the one to record), Inner Hash (the 32-byte preimage for the node on this machine), and the secret phrase (24 words that prove ownership). The last two do not belong in the website, a ticket, or a screenshot. The address line in the node startup log is the right cross-check. If that log also contains other key material, do not copy the whole line.

The official security notes treat miner-auth-token as a password. Anyone with the token and network access to the miner port can submit job results and observe mining jobs. Do not put the token in shell history, and do not paste it here. The TLS private key stays in the node directory. The node key file stays on the machine. None of those secrets can stand in for the public address, and pasting them does not make the reward lookup more accurate. The monitor only reads indexed mining rewards for the public address.

The token is not lookup data

The miner port in the guide defaults to 9833 on the local machine. The guide states that the port binds all interfaces, so reachability is your firewall, and that auth plus certificate pinning does not make it safe to publish on the internet. The guide tells you to expose only the P2P port 30333, and to keep the miner port, local RPC, and local metrics on localhost. Remote miners belong on a private network. That is a boundary for the node you run. This website does not open those ports.

Spending and lookup are separate. The site and the mining guide say the wallet supports wormhole addresses: if mining uses the same seed as the wallet app, rewards appear in the app and can be spent from the wormhole balance with no separate claim. That step happens in the official wallet. This page has no private key. It cannot sign, cannot send lifetime QTC to an exchange, and cannot perform the USDC swap linked from the public site. A regular transparent address that looks the same, if saved by mistake, is still only a lookup. It does not become permission to spend.

Spending is not this page

Illustrative case: someone pastes the 24 words and the inner hash into the address field together with the Address, hoping lifetime will rise. The extra secrets do not change the index. Remove them and query with the public Address only. If the words were exposed, handle that backup with your own wallet procedure. This page does not provide a reset. Another person who saved only the Address still sees today and lifetime as described in rewards. That is the expected page.

If the field contains spaces, words, or a long hex inner hash, delete it and paste the Address from the startup log. If you are unsure the node is on mainnet, return to Mac sync and check --chain mainnet plus the logged address. If rewards are missing, use no rewards rather than retrying with a private key. Free keeps five saved devices per project, and Pro keeps 50. An address that only appears in a list does not add a device. A separately saved device record does, and extra sources on the same saved device do not add another slot. The name on a row is only your label. The on-page agent does not hold Quantus keys and does not start the node.

Common questions

Will pasting the inner hash make rewards more accurate?

No. The lookup uses the public address only. Leave the inner hash on the local node.

Can this page send a wormhole balance to an exchange?

No. Spending happens in the official wallet. This page has no private key and cannot start the swap on the public site.

Should the miner auth token be saved next to the address?

No. The project treats it as a password. The monitor does not read it. Keep the token in the node directory.
