Gonka API reachability versus epoch participation
A responding API establishes reachability of that endpoint. It does not establish current-epoch participation, model assignment or weight for a particular host. An inference URL is also not a host identifier.
What to check
Start with the host address from official records and match its epoch participation. Record endpoint success or failure separately with a timestamp. A gateway outage can prevent lookup without proving that the host stopped. If another dashboard publishes a health score, read its methodology before comparing it with a monitor that reports only source fields.
Example
Example: a public gateway times out while official epoch records still contain the host. Preserve the last successful observation and an unknown refresh state. Converting that timeout to zero weight would confuse access failure with network data.
