Why the same 0x string is not both ETC and ETHW

Matching characters only show the shape. Before you open the monitor, confirm the miner host is etc.2miners.com and the stated algorithm is ETCHash, not the ETHW pool.

Match the host and the algorithm name

When the host is etc.2miners.com, open the Ethereum Classic monitor.

On this page

The same 0x string plus 40 hex characters can exist on Ethereum Classic, on EthereumPoW, and on Ethereum. The IOTA Watch ETC page reads only etc.2miners.com. Matching characters do not make it switch to the ETHW pool.

The 2Miners ETC help says to mine ETC with ETCHash. It lists etc.2miners.com, us-etc.2miners.com, and asia-etc.2miners.com. This page is for the regular pool when the miner host is one of those three and the stated algorithm is ETCHash.

How the figures stay separate

Unpaid, paid, and the last 24 hours on this monitor all come from the one regular ETC pool account you pasted. They are not the same-named figures on an ETHW account, and they are not an on-chain wallet balance. Hashrate likewise describes only the rate that account reports on this pool.

Three checks

See whether the miner host is one of those three ETC servers on the help page. See whether the software or the pool page names the coin ETC rather than ETHW. See whether the payout is the string on the statistics page, without a rig name glued on. The Ethereum Classic site says ETC is a different network from Ethereum. It does not print the 2Miners hosts or the word ETCHash. Algorithm and host follow the pool help.

Next step

If the host belongs to ETHW, stay on the ETHW monitor. Do not paste the same string into the Ethereum Classic monitor and treat the two balances as one. If the host is an ETC server from the help page, look it up on the ETC page. Each page's fetch time describes that response. See sources and freshness.

A side-by-side example

The help page's ETC example address is 0xa6e43E5D497ce1f4d28b4270630E97308eDA8b3e, and one host example is etc.2miners.com:1010. If that address is configured on another pool, the ETC page is not obliged to show that pool's balance. This illustration shows the shape on the help page. It is not your account.

Limits

The API documentation lists both ETC and ETHW, and it lists PPLNS and SOLO. This product's ETC read goes only to the regular account on etc.2miners.com. This article does not compare income and does not say which chain fits you. How to enter the address, and why SOLO stays out, is in the ETC monitor. How Worker names line up is in when the miner says etchash.

Common questions

If the 0x text matches, is it the same coin?

No. The shape can match. The ETC page reads only etc.2miners.com. It does not read an ETHW or Ethereum balance.

How do ETCHash and ETHash differ here?

The ETC help page writes ETCHash and names three ETC servers. ETHW is another pool. This page does not treat the two names as one account.

Does a regional server become another chain?

The help page marks the Europe, US, and Asia servers as mining ETC. They are not ETHW. This page still reads the regular account by payout address and does not split balance by region.
