When the ETC pool hashrate shows 0, do you check shares or income first?
Separate the account rate, one Worker, and a figure that was not read. A rate of 0 does not prove reward is 0, and it does not prove you should change share difficulty.
See whether the pool accepted shares
On the Ethereum Classic monitor, compare the account rate with each Worker. Do not write a dash as 0.
| What you see | Next check |
|---|---|
| The account rate is written as 0 | That is a zero reading. Then check whether each Worker is offline and whether the pool accepted shares |
| The account or a Worker is a dash | Unknown. Do not record it as 0. Check whether this fetch is stale |
| Only one Worker is 0 and the account is not | Check that rig's name, host, and offline flag. Do not treat the whole balance as gone |
| The help page prints share difficulty 8.58G | The same page says share difficulty does not change miner rewards. This page does not convert difficulty into ETC |
Hashrate on the account is the rate the pool reports for this regular ETC account. The unit is a hash rate, not a count of ETC. Only a written 0 means that reading is zero. A dash was not read. Do not rewrite it as 0, and do not treat it as a reward of 0.
The help page says to choose the lower share difficulty by default or when unsure, to choose the high difficulty above 500 GPUs or on NiceHash, and that share difficulty does not change miner rewards. The standard examples print a share difficulty of 8.58G. That figure is not hashrate and not network difficulty.
Account rate and Worker rate
The account rate can differ from each Worker's rate. A Worker also has the pool's offline mark and a last-seen time. Selecting one rig does not split unpaid balance and does not replace the account rate with that rig's rate. The name has to follow the help page's RIG_ID rules before the monitor can match the row.
How to branch
- If the account rate is written 0, open the pool statistics page and see whether shares are still arriving, then check each Worker for offline.
- If one Worker is 0 and the account is not, check that rig's host against the ETC servers on the help page and whether the stated algorithm is ETCHash. Do not zero unpaid, paid, and the last 24 hours first.
- If everything is a dash, use sources and freshness to see whether this response is stale, and leave the value unknown. Do not record it as 0.
Next step
Open the Ethereum Classic monitor, match the payout address, then match the Worker name. Do not change share difficulty to make the number larger. The help page already says difficulty does not change rewards. If the miner points at SOLO or at another coin's host, this page may not open that account, or the rate reading may be 0. That does not by itself prove the machine is off. A dash was not read. Do not rewrite it as 0.
A diagnostic example
Suppose the account rate shows 0 H/s, a Worker named rig-1 is marked offline, and unpaid still shows 1.2 ETC. That means the rate reading is 0, that rig is marked offline, and the balance is still 1.2. Do not change 1.2 into 0, and do not divide 1.2 by 8.58G to invent a daily income. The numbers only separate the readings. The figures are an illustration that keeps the rate, the offline mark, and unpaid apart.
Limits
The API documentation also lists share and Worker hashrate endpoints by time range. This page shows the account's current rate and the current Worker rows. It does not turn those history endpoints into an earnings curve. Crash interpretation stays free. The Agent cannot start or stop this ETC miner from a Mac. Worker names are in when the miner says etchash. The three amounts are in why they are not one total.
Common questions
If hashrate is 0, is reward 0?
No. A rate of 0 describes that rate reading. Read unpaid and the last 24 hours on their own. A dash is even less a zero.
Does a higher share difficulty raise rewards?
The help page says share difficulty does not change miner rewards. This page does not convert 8.58G or a higher difficulty into ETC.
Can one offline rig double or erase the wallet balance?
No. Balance stays one figure for the payout address. Offline is marked on that Worker. A per-project slot, five on Free or 50 on Pro, is used only when you save a separate device.
