Nosana job counts and NOS: why they are not earnings
Running and completed are job counts. Hourly GPU prices on the website are the renter’s listed prices, not your NOS credit. Staking is a separate path.
| Item | What it is | Shown here |
|---|---|---|
| Running / completed | Counts in the public job index | Yes, per node or for the network |
| $NOS | The token the docs name for hosting GPUs | No balance and no conversion |
| SOL and rental list prices | A chain asset, and hourly prices shown to renters | Neither is shown |
The direct answer
An increase in completed jobs is not NOS received. Under the node result, the Nosana monitor states that this source does not provide device daily earnings. Running jobs and completed jobs are both counts. The Host GPUs section of the Nosana docs says you earn $NOS by joining the grid and hosting GPUs. Rewards are their own topic (listed under Programs), not the same number as the job list.
The website offers two paths: rent GPUs on demand, or share a GPU and run workloads. Hourly prices on that page are list prices a renter compares. They are not a Host’s NOS statement, and this monitor does not quote them.
What each item counts
- The network row and the node cells: the running-list total and the completion count from the public job index. How to read them is in node counts.
- $NOS: the name the site and the docs use for the network token, next to the staking entry. Staking follows the staking topic in the docs. It is not “completion count times a unit price”.
- SOL: the node address is a Solana public key, and SOL is an asset on that chain. The monitor does not read a SOL balance and does not treat SOL as the job reward.
Totals that do not become income
- Adding completed jobs from two hosts adds two job counts. It does not produce one wallet’s income.
- If an official wallet shows a NOS balance, that figure belongs to the wallet once. Hosts linked to the same wallet do not each receive a copy of that balance.
- When running jobs are 0, there is no field “today’s NOS = 0”, and there is no hashrate to convert. What an empty list means is in idle and offline.
A schematic case
Illustrative, not actual income: node A has completed 4 and node B has completed 9. The sum is 13 completion records. Those 13 are not NOS and not SOL. Multiplying 13 by a rental list price on the website does not produce Host income.
What to do next
- For reward rules, use Host GPUs and the rewards topic under Programs in the Nosana docs. Follow that text.
- Use the monitor only to see whether the job counts changed. Take amounts from what the official wallet or the official node page actually shows.
- If the figures disagree, follow the check order before assuming NOS was underpaid.
Limits
There is no yield and no payout time on this page. Free allows five saved devices per project and Pro allows 50. That limit counts device records, not wallets, and it does not change a NOS formula — this page does not calculate a balance.
Common questions
Can I estimate NOS by multiplying completions by the hourly price?
No. The hourly price is a renter’s list price, and a completion count has no duration. Multiplying them has no official definition, and the monitor does not do it.
Does staked NOS appear next to the node’s completed count?
No. Staking is a separate entry on the site and in the docs. The node result is job counts only.
If several workers share one wallet, is income counted twice?
This monitor does not calculate NOS. A balance in the official wallet is one wallet figure. Each worker’s job counts stay on that worker’s node address. Do not copy the balance onto every host.
