IOTA training stopped but the app is open: check and recover
Confirm training has stopped before recovering it. An open window, TRAINING label or leftover subprocess does not establish active work; compare fresh logs, the training button and throughput timestamps.
Recover confirmed stops
| Observation | Next step |
|---|---|
| Start training is available again | Check for an intentional stop; resume if training is desired. |
| Fresh crash with no later progress | Preserve logs; check recovery and its cooldown state. |
| Still queued / logs progressing | Do not restart a normal wait as if it were a crash. |
Start with three checks
1) Inspect Start training on the affected Mac. 2) Keep the exit time and surrounding logs to distinguish SIGABRT, network errors and memory exhaustion. 3) Check whether real progress follows that event. SIGABRT alone does not prove out-of-memory; a leftover main_pool is not sufficient evidence of work.
How do I enable recovery?
Install and pair the latest agent from Mac management, then enable stopped-training recovery for that device. It is off by default and does not require Pro. Log upload is separate. A remote Stop disables recovery so an intentional stop is respected. Match the name and Miner ID before controlling a Mac.
Why is recovery not immediate?
The current implementation waits about 120 seconds of missing training before attempting recovery, with at least 15 minutes between recovery attempts. Check cooldown, heartbeat, permissions and launch errors instead of repeatedly issuing Restart. Queuing does not trigger recovery, and a successful relaunch does not promise a task. These are agent implementation rules, not official queue guarantees.
