Why the same 0x text does not prove the chain is ETHW
Acceptance of 0x only means the monitor will ask the ETHW pool about that string. The wallet still needs its own network. The help page has no chain id or RPC, so this article does not fill those in.
Check the pool address and the wallet network separately
After the shape is valid, open the EthereumPoW monitor. Confirm the wallet network in the custom network you added. Do not treat the monitor as that check.
| How the source names it | What that means for the monitor |
|---|---|
| 2Miners help: mine ETHW with ETHash | This is the algorithm the miner should use for this page |
| This product's ETC monitor uses ETCHash | The same 0x string does not switch this page to the ETC pool |
| The Minerstat coin page labels ETHW as Ethash | That is a third-party label. This page still follows 2Miners ETHash and does not quote that calculator |
A string that starts with 0x and has 40 hexadecimal characters does not prove it is on EthereumPoW. Ethereum and Ethereum Classic can use the same shape. When the IOTA Watch ETHW page accepts it, the next step is a lookup on ethw.2miners.com. The same shape does not switch the lookup to another chain.
The 2Miners help page says to mine ETHW with ETHash and suggests an Ethereum wallet that supports a custom network, such as adding ETHW in MetaMask with their tutorial. The help page does not include a chain id, an RPC URL, or the network name a browser wallet should show. This article does not fill those blanks. Minerstat's ETHW coin page labels the coin Ethash. That is another site's wording. In this product the ETC monitor uses ETCHash. It is not this ETHash pool.
Which side a number belongs to
Unpaid, paid, and the 24-hour reward on the monitor come from the ETHW pool account. The screen already shows ETHW. A wallet balance comes from the network the wallet is connected to. Different numbers usually mean two ledgers. The help page also allows pool payouts in BTC or TON. This page does not accept those addresses, so changing chains does not make the monitor read a Bitcoin balance.
What to inspect
On the miner, check that the algorithm is the help page's ETHash and that the host is ethw.2miners.com, us-ethw.2miners.com, or asia-ethw.2miners.com. In the wallet, check that the current network is the ETHW custom network you added. On the monitor, check that the string is the 0x address without a rig name.
What to do next
If the wallet shows coins and the monitor shows no unpaid balance, check the wallet network, then check that the pool payout address is this 0x and not a deposit address on another chain. If the monitor shows unpaid ETHW and the wallet shows zero, the cause can be that the amount is still unpaid or not yet settled, that the payout address is an exchange address so the wallet app does not show the pool balance, or that the wallet is on the wrong chain. If both are zero, check whether the miner is still submitting to the correct host. Do not add balances from two chains into one figure.
An illustrative contrast
An illustrative contrast: unpaid labelled 0.03 ETHW on the monitor only means the pool account has that unpaid amount. It does not mean an Ethereum wallet on its default network holds the same quantity of ETH. 0.03 is not current income.
Limits
This article does not swap assets and does not decide whether two 0x strings share a private key. The API note says the account endpoint returns hashrate, payments, rewards, and workers for a wallet id. It does not report Ethereum or ETC status. Open the EthereumPoW monitor and check this address. Save it with which 0x to enter and use the offline checklist when hashrate is empty. See sources and freshness.
Common questions
Does a valid 0x mean it is ETHW?
No. Acceptance only means the monitor sends that address to ethw.2miners.com. Ethereum and ETC can use the same shape. Also check the help page's ETHash and the three ETHW hosts.
Can I paste the BTC or TON payout the help page allows?
No. The help page says the pool can pay in BTC, TON, or ETHW. The monitor accepts only 0x plus 40 hex characters. bc1 and UQ are rejected, and the page does not change chains.
Is a MetaMask balance the pool balance?
Not by itself. The help page only says you can add ETHW with a custom network. The extract has no chain id or RPC URL. The wallet shows the network it is connected to. The monitor does not read the browser wallet. It reads the pool account.
