IOTA Train at Home rewards are zero or unpaid: what to check first

Distinguish a successful zero reading from missing data, today’s accounting from lifetime earnings, and pending rewards from wallet payouts.

Plain text version

A zero on the dashboard and a missing wallet payout are different questions. The first concerns the records the monitor can read; the second concerns official payout processing. Before restarting training or assuming rewards were lost, identify which field changed and whether its data source succeeded.

First distinguish zero from unknown

IOTA Watch shows a known zero only when a usable official response supports it. A failed request, invalid response or missing field remains unknown. If a refresh fails, a previous successful reading may stay visible with its original timestamp and a warning.

Open the device’s reward details and inspect totals and history separately. Lifetime totals can be available while the history request fails, or the reverse. A partly available reward panel does not make every number current. Check data freshness before comparing two screenshots taken at different times.

Check which day the total covers

Today’s rewards in IOTA Watch use the Hong Kong calendar day, starting at 00:00 Asia/Hong_Kong. They sum official pending and settled history entries in that window, excluding frozen entries and future timestamps. The result is accounted earnings, not an estimate of how much the machine is earning this second.

After midnight, today’s reading can be zero while lifetime earnings remain positive. Look at the history record timestamps before treating that as a regression. A device in a different timezone still uses the same dashboard accounting day. The reward calculation guide describes this rule in detail.

Earned, pending and paid answer different questions

Lifetime earned describes the official amount credited overall. Paid describes what the official totals endpoint reports as paid. Pending describes a balance awaiting payment. Adding paid to earned would count part of the reward twice; IOTA Watch keeps those fields separate.

The official FAQ describes a changing payout threshold and conditions that can freeze entitlements. Use the current balance and minimum-payout fields returned by the official API instead of relying on an old numeric threshold from a post. A pending or frozen record is not a confirmed wallet receipt.

Check coverage before comparing several devices

If one device has no usable history, a fleet’s today total is incomplete even when other devices are readable. The dashboard marks the known total as partial. An increase in the number of readable devices can increase the total without showing a sudden change in training performance.

  • Confirm the saved ID is the device’s public Miner ID
  • Check the official app’s earnings view alongside the web monitor
  • Record which field is missing, its source warning and the last successful fetch time
  • For a payout issue, check settings in the official app and consult official support

Keep the monitor and payout setup separate

IOTA Watch does not configure where the official app pays rewards, move tokens or verify a wallet transaction. A Google account synchronizes a device list; it does not change a payout address. For reported activity with no recent training volume, continue with waiting-for-task checks.
