# NOID pool, node RPC and the o1 address are different things

A Parano1d node’s JSON-RPC defaults to localhost port 9601. Parano1d Pool states main.parano1d-pool.fun:3784. The monitor reads a public miner account on a pool, not your node, and not IOTA.

## At a glance

The website is the network and the wallet, the docs are the node RPC, and the pool page is shares and payments. InnovLab is another pool. Its coin field is parano1d. The unit shown is still NOID.

## What each entry point does

| Entry | What it provides | Does the monitor use it for miners |
| --- | --- | --- |
| parano1d.org | Network notes plus wallet and miner downloads | No |
| Docs RPC 127.0.0.1:9601 | JSON-RPC for a local node; amounts in μNOID | No |
| Parano1d Pool :3784 | Public-pool shares, owed and paid | Asked first |
| InnovLab | Another pool’s miner account, coin parano1d | Only after a miss or a failure |

Before you look up a NOID miner, name which service is open. The Parano1d website describes the proof-of-work network, the wallet and the miner programs. The JSON-RPC in the docs is the node interface. Its default endpoint is http://127.0.0.1:9601, methods use the paranoid_ prefix, and amounts are μNOID. That is not the pool port.

Parano1d Pool’s own help states that the pool address and the JSON-RPC are both main.parano1d-pool.fun:3784, and that the coinbase is your public o1. Miners that speak the Parano1d mining JSON-RPC this pool asks for can connect, including the page’s examples noid-gpu and parano1d-miner. With no GPU, the page says to replace --gpu with --threads N. Those lines are that pool page’s connection notes.

## What the monitor actually reads

[NOID monitoring](https://iotahome.site/en/projects/noid) reads the public miner page for that o1 on Parano1d Pool first. If there is no record or the read fails, it reads the same address on InnovLab with the coin parano1d and labels the source. It does not sign into your node, it does not use port 9601, and it does not add the two pools together. The unit on screen is NOID. The address, per the docs, is canonical bech32m starting with o1. It is not an IOTA address and not a Train at Home Miner ID.

## Which branch to take

- If the miner cannot connect, match the host and port 3784 in the pool help. Do not switch it to the docs’ 127.0.0.1:9601.

- If the node is syncing and the pool still has no address, the node only recognizes the o1 shape. The share account lives on the pool you configured.

- If the monitor source is InnovLab, check [InnovLab](https://noid.innovlab.cc/). Do not explain that row with Parano1d Pool’s port 3784.

- Third-party tools in the website’s community list are maintained by their authors. The site says a listing is not an audit or a warranty.

## Illustrative case

When the miner points at Parano1d Pool, the host is the help page’s main.parano1d-pool.fun:3784 and coinbase is your own full public o1. o1example is a placeholder shape. It is not a valid address, and you must not query it. The monitor has no custom RPC and no pool selector. It reads the public miner account on Parano1d Pool first, then InnovLab only after a miss or a failure. The two ledgers stay independent. The local node at http://127.0.0.1:9601 is not a miner account.

## Next step and limits

Make the miner coinbase the same public address you save on [NOID monitoring](https://iotahome.site/en/projects/noid). Free is five saved devices per project and Pro is 50. This page does not start the miner and does not certify a third-party miner’s dev fee. Crash-log analysis is free. The automated agent covers IOTA Train at Home on Mac only.

## Common questions

### Which port do I use, 9601 or 3784?

When mining to Parano1d Pool, use main.parano1d-pool.fun:3784 as that page writes it. Port 9601 is the local node RPC in the docs. The monitor looks up the public address on the pool. Do not paste either port into the address field.

### Are parano1d and NOID two coins?

No. NOID is the unit on this network. InnovLab uses parano1d as the coin field for miner accounts on that same chain. The monitor shows amounts as NOID.

### Is this the same as IOTA training devices in IOTA Watch?

No. NOID here is pool-address monitoring on the Parano1d network. IOTA Train at Home uses a different Miner ID. Do not paste an o1 address into the IOTA project, or a training device into NOID.
