# NOID pool switching and outstanding balances

Pools maintain separate ledgers. Reusing an o1 payout address does not move the old pool’s unpaid balance into the new pool when the miner endpoint changes. A shared chain address is not a shared pool account.

## At a glance

Pools maintain separate ledgers. Reusing an o1 payout address does not move the old pool’s unpaid balance into the new pool when the miner endpoint changes. A shared chain address is not a shared pool account.

## What to check

Save the old pool, address, change time and original owed/paid values. Follow maturation and payouts on that pool while checking fresh shares on the new one. Do not overwrite the old balance with a zero from the new pool or add the chain wallet balance again to lifetime pool payments.

## Example

Example: the old pool still owes funds while the new pool has an active worker. Keep both source records. Switching pools does not establish that the old account settled; wallet receipt still needs a payment transaction.
